Lemon Poppy Seed loaf cake

3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, softened (or margerine)
2 cups white sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup leamon juice
3/4 cup plain yogurt
3 T. lemon zest
1/2 cup poppy seeds


Preheat oven to 350 degree. Heavily grease and flour two 9x5 in. loaf pans. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter or margerine, and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix lemon juice and yogurt together and add alternately with sifted flour mixture to the buttermixture. Mix until just blended. Stir in leamon zest and poppy seeds. Pour mixture in prepared pans and smooth tops. Bake 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until browned and knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 15 min. before turning out of pan.
