White Wine Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 box vanilla instant pudding (small box)
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup white wine (not cooking wine)
1/2 cup water
4 eggs

1 cup chopped pecans (set aside)

1 stick butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup white wine


Mix all the cake ingredients together. Prepare a 10 inch stem pan or a bunt pan buttered and floured. Sprinkle 1 cup of chopped pecans in the bottom of the prepared pan. Pour batter over nuts. Bake 350 degrees oven for 45 to 60 minutes depending on oven. Makes a large pound-like cake. Sauce: Boil this mixture 3 minutes and pour over the hot cake while still in the pan. Let cake cool before removing from pan.
