Swedish Nut Cake

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 20 oz can crushed pineapple (including juice)
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick margarine or butter, softened
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
Nuts for topping


Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugar, flour, eggs sod, pineapple, and juice in a mixing bowl. add 1/2 cup nuts and pur into a 9 by 12 greased baking pan. Bake 40 minutes. For frosting, mix brown sugar, margarine and cream cheese in a bowl. Spread on cake while it is hot. Sprinkle with nuts. A mixture of walnuts, almonds, and pecans for the topping is good.
