Moms Buttermilk Corn Bread

2 cups self rising corn meal
1/2 cup self rising flour
2 cup buttermilk
1 large egg


Add buttermilk and egg to cornmeal and flour. Melt 2 T bacon drippings in iron skillet or oven proof baking pan. Pour most of it into batter and mix. Pour into pan and bake 400 degrees until done. About 25 to 30 minutes.
