1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 cup luke warm water
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp sugar
1 cup buttermilk
3 T shortening
4 cups plain flour


Dissolve yeast in warm water. Cut shortening into the flour. Add sugar and salt. Mix together, add yeast and buttermilk. Put dough into a large buttered bowl and let rise until double in bulk. Punch the dough down and knead until smooth. Cut the dough into rolls and let rise in pan until double again. Bake 425 degrees until brown. About 25 rolls.
