Brown Sugar Frosting or Chocolate

2 cups brown sugar
2/3 cup milk
1/2 stick butter
2 T white Karo
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla


Cook until soft ball stage let cool slightly add the vanilla. Let cool and beat until constistency to spread. When it starts to turn cloudy you have to work fast to spread it. Optional add pecans. For CHOCOLATE- substitute whte sugar for brown and add 1/4 cup cocoa and cut down on milk and cooking time.
