Tomato Sauce:
1/4 cup olive oil or salad oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic
2 T chopped parsley
1 can (12 oz) whole tomatoes, undrained
2 cans (6 oz) tomato paste
2 tsp dried oregano leaves
1 tsp dried basil leaves
2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 pkg. (1 lb. size) lasagna
1 lb. Mozzarella cheese diced
1 lb ricotta cheese
1 cup grated parmesan cheese


Make meetballs: (from other page.) Sauce: Slowly heat oil in large heavy skillet. Brown meatballs in hot oil, remove and add onions, garlic, and parsley. Saute until tender abt 5 minutes. Add rest of sauce ingredients along with 1/2 cup water and meat balls. Stir to mix well and bring to boiling . Reduce heat simmer uncovered 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13 X9X2 baking dish. Meanwhile, cook lasagna as pkg. label directs. Drain, rinse with hot water. In prepared baking dish, layer half the ingredients, in this order: Lasagna, Mozzarella, ricotta, tomato sauce with meat balls and parmesan cheese; then repeat. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cheese is melted and lasagna is heated through. From: Celest VanSickle Chicago, IL
