Gingerbread Upside Down Apple Cake

1 pkg Gingerbread mix
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups Apples thinly sliced
cherries halved


Melt butter in 9 inch square pan. Blend in brown sugar. Spread mixture over bottom of pan. Layer apples over mixture in three rows. Inbetween rown of apples place cherrie halves and pecans. Follow directons on ginger bread mix and pour over apples. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Immediately place serving dish over pan and turn up side down. Wait a minute to allow sugar mixture to run down over cake. Cut in squares. Serve with sweetened whipped cream or cool whip. Ice Cream is also good.
