Yeast Rolls

3 cups plain flour
4 T oil
1/2 tsp soda
1 cup buttermilk
3 T sugar
1 pkg dry yeast
1 tsp salt


Mix dry yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. (luke warm) Add soda to buttermilk, oil and the yeast. Mix flour, salt and sugar together. Add yeast mixture. This makes a stiff dough. Put in a greased bowl and cover and let rise until double in bulk. When ready to use punch down and kneed until smooth. Roll out very thin and stack on top of each other. Let rise one hour before baking. Bake 425 degrees until nicely browned. Optional: Use Solid crisco and cut into the flour. Can make in different shape rolls.
